Piotr UHMA - President

Piotr Uhma, (born 1978), Co-founder and President of the Institute. Lawyer. Doctorate of Laws (SJD) candidate - Chair of Public International Law, Law School of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. Holder of the Postgraduate Diploma of Company Law in the Law School of Warsaw University. Graduated from the Law School of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. Completed a special course in Law of Public Administration and Corporate Law, with the final paper on "Contracting out procedure as an example of privatisation of state". Consultant at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Mission in Kosovo. Expert on policy programming, civic participation and youth rights. Worked on legal and policy issues for the German Development Agency (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit - GTZ GmbH) and UNICEF. Advised the Ministry of Home Affairs of Kenya and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Kosovo. General Rapporteur at the UNDP Training Seminar on National Youth Policy in Central and Eastern African Countries, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in September 2003. Guest speaker at the Youth Employment Summit (YES) 2nd sitting in Veracruz, Mexico, 2004. Delegate to the YES Summit in Alexandria, Egypt in 2002. Speaker and participant at many international conferences (including in Prague, Sydney, Jakarta, Strasbourg, Vienna, Amman, Nairobi, Denver, Seoul, etc.). Vice-President of the International Council on National Youth Policy (ICNYP) in Vienna, Austria. 1999-2006 Director in the Secretariat of the World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU). Author of several articles on youth, international relations and media, including: "European Convention on Transfrontier Television as a legal framework of media in Europe" - Miscellanea Iuris Gentium (MIG). "Towards Global Risk Management at the Turn of the Century - problems in Public International Law", PWPM, vol. 1/2003r. (in Polish), "A generation without borders bridging the cultural divide" - proceedings of the international conference on "Dialogue among Civilisations - The Key to a Safe Future", Warsaw, Poland, April, 2003.

Sabina KLIMEK - President of the Supervisory Board

Co-Founder of the Institute and President of the Supervisory Board. Earned a Master's degree of International Economic Relations from the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland. Also graduated from the Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences in Finland (Bachelors Degree of Business Administration). sabina klimekShe holds a Postgraduate Masters Degree of Marketing from The University of St Andrews, Scotland. Alumni of the School for Leaders Association and a trainer of the Polish-Swiss Entrepreneurship Centre (specialises in negotiations, marketing and sales). From 1997 - 2005 personal assistant to the Member of Parliament of Poland. Since 2001 Director of the MP Constituency Office. Since 2000 President of the Democratic Youth Union. Co-founder and President of the regional Silesian Youth Council and Vice-President of the Polish Youth Council. She took internships in Poland (Ministry of Finances, Chamber of Handicrafts and Small and Medium Enterprises) and the United States, which led to the establishment of partnership between Polish and American companies. Sabina Klimek is currently working for the Hewlett-Packard, as a Human Resources Specialist.

Marta BULIK - Consultant

Responsible for external relations of the Institute. From 2005-2006 worked in the headquarters of AVSO, a Brussels based international organisation. jeffreyWith her Latin American and journalism studies, and a dissertation in journalism and mass communication Marta is an experienced consultant in international and intercultural co-operation. She is a holder of the Diploma of the Baltic Sea Region Studies at the University of Turku, Finland. She was a co-ordinator of projects about multicultural Europe and participation in local and regional life. From 2002-2004 a member of the Young Diplomats' Center and till 2005 a member of the Commission for International Affairs within the Student Self Government of the Jagiellonian University. She was an intern in "Cracovian International Consultants" a public relations company, as well. In the last few years she participated in and co-ordinated several international seminars and training courses on human rights youth policy, democracy, conflict resolution, peace and tolerance.

Luiza CZAJKOWSKA - Consultant

Graduated from journalism and public relations at the Jagiellonian University Professors College. Studied political sciences and holds a Bachelors Degree in Cultural Studies. Currently M.A. candidate in International Culture Studies at the Jagiellonian University. For this purpose in February and March 2006 carried out a research in Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil on indigenous people. Luiza brings to the Institute her extensive experience in NGO movement and training. She has prepared and implemented a few dozen trainings, seminars and courses in non-formal education, civic participation, European and intercultural affairs in almost all countries in Europe also in Canada and Israel. Alumni of the School for Leaders Association. Since 1997 a member of the Krakow European Club. Since 1998 a board member of the European Youth Co-operation Center responsible for international relations, trainings, PR and communication. Since September 2004 member of the Association for Community Colleges based in Denmark. She was a stagière in the Cocoa & Coffee Company in Abidjan, the capital city of Ivory Coast.
